May he breathe on us his saving Spirit. We pray in his name." The Apostles' Creed is on page 162 in the Gather Book. At the Greeting of Peace, "Peace be with you" is added in Hebrew and Arabic as our prayer for peace in the Holy Land. Shalom aleichem in Hebrew and Asalamu aleikum in Arabic.

Carl and Gretchen Patton and their two children, Jane and John were parishioners many years ago. At the time, Carl was the head of the Urban Planning Department at the University of Illinois. Carl was also a trustee of the parish. About the mid-1980s they moved on from this community. In 1992, Carl was inaugurated as the president of Georgia State University in Atlanta. He invited me to give the benediction at his inauguration. The keynote speaker for that occasion was former-president Jimmy Carter. I have been in contact with Carl and Gretchen over the years. Carl has just retired from his position after 16 very active years. He has had an amazing record of accomplishments at GSU. Congratulations to you, Carl! We at your home parish are proud of you.

United In Gratitude as One Church, let us join together to support this year's Annual Diocesan Appeal. Thanks to the 53 families who have already pledged 64% of the $19,265 goal assigned to St. Mary. If you have misplaced your form, please contact the office.
