There are four opening prayers at the Sunday Eucharist: English - varies from Sunday to Sunday; Korean - "Merciful Lord, with all our heart, may we adore you and love all the people truly"; Spanish - This also varies from Sunday to Sunday; Kanjobal (a Mayan dialect) - "God, our Father, we always follow Jesus. May he breathe on us his saving Spirit. We pray in his name." The Apostles' Creed is on page 162 in the Gather Book. At the Greeting of Peace, "Peace be with you" is added in Hebrew and Arabic as our prayer for peace in the Holy Land. Shalom aleichem in Hebrew and Asalamu aleikum in Arabic.

The St. Mary Spiritual Reading Group II for gentlemen (ladies are welcome) will meet May 22, 8 P.M., in the Romero Center. We will read Benedict XVI's Encyclical Letter (2005) and formulate the fall semester program. The Pope's letter can be down loaded from the Vatican Web site. St. Mary Parish Nurse, YangSoon Kim, will provide Blood Pressure Screening on Sat., May 10, and Sun., May 11,
after Mass. Join her in the Romero Parish Center.

United In Gratitude as One Church, let us join together to support this year's Annual Diocesan Appeal. Letters were mailed this week. If you did not receive one, we do not have your name on the parish list. Please call the office to update our records.

St. Mary Cemetery depends on annual donations for upkeep. Families who own lots at the cemetery are reminded to help pay for the costs of mowing and maintenance which this year will come to over $20,000. Your contribution to
St. Mary Cemetery can be put in the collection basket.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court 1070, will have a May crowning and box luncheon at noon on Tuesday, May 13, Holy Cross Parish Center. Box lunches are $7.50 and may be reserved by calling Theresa at 352-8887. Guests are welcome. Money and/or items for Birthright, a local crisis pregnancy center, will be collected.

Catholic Relief Services is providing relief to the thousands of families affected by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. Donations can be made via the web at crs.org or a check made to Catholic Relief Services can be put in the collection.

Learn Natural Family Planning, the healthy and effective method of family planning. The first class for the series will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2 P.M., at St. Matthew Church in Champaing. Classes are open to all interested persons.
