The first gathering of the new Men of St. Mary Spiritual/Bible Reading Group will meet on Thursday, April 10, 8 P.M., in the Parish Center. The High School Youth Group will meet on Sunday, April 6. Meet in the Parish Center at 6:30 P.M. and bring your homework. Religious lesson will begin at
7:30 P.M. The next social event will be Saturday, April 19. Students participating in the CropWalk should meet at Sinai Temple on Sunday, April 13, at 1:45 P.M.

Magda Sotz Mux, a visiting artist from Guatemala, will be giving weaving demonstrations at the Spurlock Museum on Saturday, April 12, 10 A.M.-noon &
1:30-3:30 P.M., and Saturday, April 19, 10 A.M.-noon & 2 P.M.

In our community, CROP Walk funds support the Eastern Illinois Food Bank, the TIMES Center, and St. Jude's Catholic Worker House. On Sunday, April 13, Dolores and Andy Sofranko, Bea Shahin, Jennifer and Chris Glick, Mary Ellen Sronce, and the St. Mary Youth Group will be walking in support of others who have no choice but to walk. Mark your calendar for Taste of St. Mary. This event will be held on Sunday,
April 27, 12-2 P.M., in the parish center and church lawn. The money raised will support the St. Mary Calavera Mission.

St. Joseph Cupertino Seminars for people who want to learn more about their Church and Faith will present The Second Vatican Council on Wednesday, April 9, 6:30 P.M., Holy Cross Church Parish Center. Catholic Daughters of the Americas will celebrate Mass together on Sunday,

March with Bishop Jenky from Liberty Park on the Peoria riverfront to the Cathedral on Saturday, April 26, for the fifth annual Call to Catholic Men of Faith. The march will begin at 9 A.M. Join men and women for the National Catholic Singles Conference, April 25-27 in Lincolnshire, IL. The weekend includes talks by national speakers, social events, times of prayer and more. Human Experience, an amazing free movie, will be shown on Wednesday, April 16, 7 P.M., at the Virginia Theater. Brothers travel the world in search of the answers to the burning questions: Who am I? Who is Man? Why do we search for meaning? Their journey brings them into the middle of the lives of the homeless on the streets of New York City, the orphans and disabled children of Peru, and the abandoned lepers in the forests of Ghana.

The New Melleray Trappist Monastery in Peosta, Iowa and the Gethsemani Trappist Abbey in Trappist, Kentucky will be hosting Live-in Experience vocational retreats. Work and pray with the monks. There is no cost but space is limited. Call 1-800-221-1807 for dates and information.
Indigenous Communities and Development Work: Perspectives from Guatemala will be the program on Wednesday, April 9, 7:30 P.M., at the Channing-Murray Foundation. Peter Rihloff, working for an NGO in Guatemala, and Magda Sotz Mux, educator from San Juan Comelapa, will speak.

The Promise and Ultimate Mystery of Marriage is Fr. James Murray's theme for the Married Couples Weekend on April 11-13. The retreat begins at 7 P.M. on Friday evening and ends at 1 P.M. on Sunday. Bishop Jenky invites all college students to join him for Mass and dinner on Saturday, April 12. The evening will begin with Mass at 5:30 P.M. in the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria. Dinner, a talk by Bishop Jenky, and dancing will follow at the Holiday Inn Center.
